A Survivor at Every Rink: Boston Bruins

Boston, MA. Lung cancer survivor Chris Joyce, a 35 year old, will change the face of lung cancer on Thursday night, as he rides the Boston Bruins zamboni around the TD Bank Garden, in front of a packed arena.

Joyce, his wife and Mass General lung cancer oncologist Dr. Lecia Sequist are attending the game between the Boston Bruins and the San Jose Sharks as representatives of Team Draft. The game will be a continuance of Team Draft’s “A Survivor at Every Rink” initiative, fueled by a relationship with NHL during their annual Hockey Fights Cancer month.

Team Draft’s goals are to create a unique experience for participating survivors and to raise awareness on a local, national, and international level by using each game and each survivor’s story to weave a broader narrative about the state of lung cancer and the hope that now exists for those battling the disease.
