SUMMARY:Survivor at Every College Stadium: Belk Kickoff Classic
DESCRIPTION:View Photos  \nCharlotte\, NC. Raleigh lung cancer survivor-advocate Nicole Russell and her family represented Team Draft in the Gridiron Club at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Russells joined our co-founder\, Chris Draft\, at the Belk Classic watched the NC State Wolfpack lose a close game to the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. \nIn 2012\, we\, Team Draft\, launched our inaugural Survivor Series initiative on CNN during a nationally-televised prime time special focusing on lung cancer and our National Campaign to Change the Face of Lung Cancer. \nOur Survivor at Every Stadium\, leverages our connections with the NFL\, its teams and players with our relationships with many of the top cancer centers in the country. As a part of our International Campaign\, the games allow us to celebrate our survivors\, raise awareness\, and give hope to those battling the disease\, as well as shine a light on the important work being done at cancer research and treatment centers around the country. \n\nTeam Draft’s goals are to create a unique experience for participating survivors and to raise awareness on a local\, national\, and international level by using each game and each survivor’s story to weave a broader narrative about the state of cancer and the hope that now exists for those battling the disease. \n\n\nSpecial thanks to the Belk\, Riley Fields\, Carolina Panthers and all of our Team Draft supporters for helping make this event possible. \nDonate now to Support the International Campaign to Change the Face of Lung Cancer!

SUMMARY:Survivor at Every College Stadium: NIU Huskies
DESCRIPTION:Dekalb\, IL. University of Chicago Cancer Center lung cancer survivor-advocate Kristal Russo and her husband Charlie represented Team Draft at Huskie Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Russos watched the Northern Illinois Huskies defeat the Eastern Illinois Panthers. \nI am humbled by the opportunity to share my experience in the fight to battle cancer.  Especially when I am surrounded by others like me\, who understand the physical and emotional demands that it takes on one’s self. \nI have always lived my life and I feel I am where I need to be each day.  I am blessed to have a wonderful husband\, beautiful children and friends who support\, comfort and fill my days with such joy and passion. \nCrossing the one year mark is difficult to describe.  I wanted to celebrate\, however I chose to reflect on my present instead of focus on the past or future.  My family celebrated for me in the most appropriate way by being with me and I loved it. ~ Kristal Russo\n\n\nIn 2012\, we\, Team Draft\, launched our inaugural Survivor Series initiative on CNN during a nationally-televised prime time special focusing on lung cancer and our National Campaign to Change the Face of Lung Cancer. \nOur Survivor at Every Stadium\, leverages our connections with the NFL\, its teams and players with our relationships with many of the top cancer centers in the country. SUMMARY:Survivor at Every Stadium: Chicago Bears
DESCRIPTION:View Photos \nChicago\, IL. University of Chicago Cancer Center lung cancer Ivy Elkins and her husband Ben represented Team Draft at Soldier Field on Sunday afternoon. The Elkins’ watched the Chicago Bears lose a close game to the\, defending NFC Champions\, Atlanta Falcons with Team Draft co-founder and former Chicago Bear\, Chris Draft. \nMy husband Ben and I are honored to represent Team Draft at Soldier Field during Chicago Bears Alumni Weekend.  As a stage IV lung cancer survivor diagnosed over 3 1/2 years ago and a lifelong non-smoker\,  I fully support Team Draft’s mission to increase awareness of lung cancer through the Survivor at Every Stadium initiative.  It’s so important for the public to realize that anyone with lungs can get lung cancer and there is a huge need for increased research funding in lung cancer.  I am living a good\, active life with lung cancer and this is only possible due to recent advances in lung cancer treatments and the excellent care I receive at the University of Chicago.  ~ Ivy Elkins \nIn 2012\, we\, Team Draft\, launched our inaugural Survivor Series initiative on CNN during a nationally-televised prime time special focusing on lung cancer and our National Campaign to Change the Face of Lung Cancer. \nOur Survivor at Every Stadium\, leverages our connections with the NFL\, its teams and players with our relationships with many of the top cancer centers in the country. SUMMARY:Survivor at Every Stadium: Detroit Lions
DESCRIPTION:View Photos \nDetroit\, MI. Lung cancer survivor-advocate Matt Riga represented Team Draft at Ford Field on Sunday afternoon. Matt and his family watched the Detroit Lions lose a close game to the Atlanta Falcons with Team Draft co-founder and Atlanta Falcons Legend\, Chris Draft. \nMatt was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last year as a 34 year old non-smoker. Matt is a rock star of a fighter and will not stop! We are so grateful for the support we have around us and are so proud to now be lung cancer advocates to help find a cure to this disease! \nIf you have lungs\, you can get lung cancer. 1 in 15 Americans will be diagnosed with lung cancer in their lifetimes. More people die of this disease each year over colon\, breast and prostate cancer combined\, yet it is seriously underfunded because of the stigma. Thankfully there are so many breakthroughs and so much hope on the horizon\, but these ideas need to be funded! ~ The Riga Family\n \nIn 2012\, we\, Team Draft\, launched our inaugural Survivor Series initiative on CNN during a nationally-televised prime time special focusing on lung cancer and our National Campaign to Change the Face of Lung Cancer. \nOur Survivor at Every Stadium\, leverages our connections with the NFL\, its teams and players with our relationships with many of the top cancer centers in the country.
