Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) lung cancer survivors Kelly Kakuk\, JD Walk\, and Jim Brown represented Team Draft at Alaska Airlines Field on Saturday night. The survivors watched the University of Washington Huskies  defeat the Fresno State Bulldogs. \nI am so excited to be there to cheer on the UW Huskies! What a great opportunity to bring the lung cancer community out into our local community\, and raise awareness in the process. And it’s always fun to meet up with fellow survivors! Together we can change the face of lung cancer! Thank you Team Draft\, for your commitment to make a difference! #survivorateverycollegestadium ~ Kelly Kakuk  \nI believe that If you want to win you have to surround yourself with winners.  It going to be great to attend the University of Washington Husky football team win at home with a group of fellow lung cancer friends  to get recharged for the next while! ~ JD Walk \nAn Olympia firefighter is inspiring his co-workers and community with his perseverance as he tries to overcome a difficult diagnosis of stage four lung cancer.  \nHis fight is best summed up by two words: Hold fast. It’s an old Coast Guard saying\, which means “hang on\, don’t let your hands slip\, there’s a storm coming.” ~ Read more about Jim Brown \nIn 2012\, we\, Team Draft\, launched our inaugural Survivor Series initiative on CNN during a nationally-televised prime time special focusing on lung cancer and our National Campaign to Change the Face of Lung Cancer. \nOur Survivor at Every College Stadium\, leverages our connections with the NCAA\, its teams and players with our relationships with many of the top cancer centers in the country. As a part of our International Campaign\, the games allow us to celebrate our survivors\, raise awareness\, and give hope to those battling the disease\, as well as shine a light on the important work being done at cancer research and treatment centers around the country. \n\nTeam Draft’s goals are to create a unique experience for participating survivors and to raise awareness on a local\, national\, and international level by using each game and each survivor’s story to weave a broader narrative about the state of cancer and the hope that now exists for those battling the disease. \n\n\nSpecial thanks to the University of Washington Huskies\, UW-Seattle Cancer Care Alliance\, Anthony Gabriel and all of our Team Draft supporters for helping make this event possible. \nDonate now to Support the International Campaign to Change the Face of Lung Cancer! \n \n\n \n
